Neighborhood Progress, Inc. and KeyBank are partnering to advance the financial stability of Cleveland area residents through the Financial Education Center in the Buckeye Neighborhood.
The Financial Education Center, adjacent to the KeyBank branch at 11461 Buckeye Road, in Cleveland, Ohio, has helped more than 16,000 individuals invest in themselves, better manage their finances, and achieve their financial goals, since 2004. The free financial curriculum at the Center, titled “Learn and Earn,” is comprised of thirteen interactive classes on topics including managing credit, saving for emergencies and for the future, and homeownership.
The Center had been offering financial literacy and coaching services through a partnership with nonprofit WECO Fund, Inc., which is closing its doors. Neighborhood Progress is stepping up to assist the Center in continuing its mission and has hired former WECO employees, Beverly Davis and Danielle Thomas, onto its staff. Davis and Thomas will continue administering the Center’s classes, workshops, and coaching. More than 140 KeyBank employees, in the Cleveland area, are also certified to offer these resources at the Center and through community outreach.
